    Money Smart. Property Ready.

Gen Z is switched on when it comes to money.

But the real question is who are you listening to?

New research from Moneysmart shows younger Australians are actively seeking financial advice. The issue is not a lack of interest. It is a growing reliance on sources that are not always reliable. And when it comes to investing, that matters.

Where Gen Z is getting advice

Social media, influencers and AI are now major sources of financial information.

    According to Moneysmart:

    • 63% of Gen Z use social media for financial information
    • Many are turning to AI platforms for guidance
    • More than half say they trust influencers and online content

At first glance, that sounds positive. People are engaged. But when you look closer, the trust levels tell a different story.

    The Trust Gap

    The trust gap

The data shows a significant level of trust in sources that are not always based on proven experience or strategy.

    • 48% somewhat trust AI as a source of financial information
    • 42% somewhat trust influencers
    • 42% somewhat trust social media

    Even more concerning:

    • 16% completely trust AI
    • 14% completely trust social media
    • 10% completely trust influencers

This is where mistakes can happen. Financial decisions based on hype, trends or unverified information often lead to short-term thinking and long-term consequences.

    Property is not a trend

Property investing is not something you learn from a short video or a trending post.

It is built on strategy, structure, long-term thinking and understanding risk and opportunity.

This is why many first-time investors feel overwhelmed. Not because they are not capable, but because they are being pulled in too many directions.

    What smart investors do differently

The most successful investors follow a different path.

They learn the fundamentals first. They build a plan before they act. They seek guidance from experienced professionals. They focus on long-term outcomes, not short-term noise.

They do not rely on what is popular. They rely on what works.

    You are already ahead

If you are reading this, you are already doing something most people are not. You are looking for better information.

The next step is making sure the advice you follow is based on real experience, proven strategy and a long-term approach to building wealth.
